Writing(3a-3b)
Teaching aims:
Review the words,phrases and sentences in unit 9.
Learn to describe a person with the given information .
Teaching focus:
Words,phrases and sentences in unit 9.

Describe a person with the given information .
Teaching procedure:
Step I. Warming up (1’)
Warm the students as usual.
Step II. Leading-in (2’)
Show a video to lead in the new lesson.
Talk about the video and then sing the song together.
T:Do you know what we will learn about today?
Yes,we will learn how to write a passage about somebody’s appearance.
Step III. Reading (5’)
Show the passage in 3a . Fill in the blanks with the words in the box. Check the answers together.
Step IV. Pre-writing (10’)
Look at the passage in 3a again. And write the key phrases on the blackboard.
Think: think about the types of the passage, the person and the tense.
Structurize:
Analysis 3a to talk about the writing skills.(板书introduce,describe,why).
First,it introduces his best friend’s name.
Then it writes about Jack’s height, hair, glasses,clothes and so on.
Finally, it tells us why he likes Jack.
T:Pay attention to this sentence “Let me tell you what he looks like.” In “what he looks like” , there is no “dose” and it changes “look” into “looks”.It is an object clause. In the object clause, you must use “declarative sentence order”.
Write:conjunction into sentences with the words and phrases .
