(2)It was sitting in a tree and smiling at everyone.
in a/the tree的同义词组为on a/the tree,均表示“在树上”。
区别:in a/the tree表示外部的事物或人在树上,而非树木自身所长,如鸟,风筝等;on a /the tree表示树木本身有的东西,如树叶,果实等。例:There are many birds in the tree. 树上有很多鸟。Look! So many apples on the tree.看,树上结了好多苹果。

(3)Suddenly a white rabbit with pink eyes ran by.
with pink eyes作rabbit的定语; by用作介词,意为“经过”。例:The headteacher came in with anger. 班主任带着怒气进来了。

【辨析】think about、think of与think over
①think about意为“考虑,思考”,一般指较短时间的仔细思考。其中about是介词,后可接代词、名词、动词-ing形式或由疑问词引导的不定式或宾语从句。另外,它表示“考虑”时,可与think of换用。②think of意为“考虑到,想到,认为”,后常接名词、代词或动词-ing形式。 ③think over意为“仔细考虑”。它是动副型短语,后接名词或代词作宾语。当其后接代词时,应把代词放在think与over之间。
