"There were sixpence all over the place and he looked up at the moon." This is what many people think after reading this book. However from my perspective, that's not the only thing we should feel in this book. So what I want to talk about today is about dreams.
Indeed, it is remarkable that Strickland can look up at the moon, struggle for his dream, while everyone else around us , including ourself, hunched over their heads, fixated on food and clothing. But we should not lose sight of why Strickland was the only one who could see it. Had not the moon always been there?
The first step for a man to realize his dream is to know what he wants to do, and Strickland does it. He has grew up with his dream of being a painter. We have spent our lives changing our dreams, never making a firm choice, so in this s of the outside world, he really find himself, which is the fit of heart and dream.
After reading the book, I wrote down the following sentence: "Only when you know what you want, what you lose is meaningful. Strickland has found his moon, and I am still on my way." I would like to share with you.
