Knowledge:

1. Phonic. The pronunciation of “o” in post, office, hotel, shop.

2. Vocabulary. Ss can learn to listen, read, say and write these words: post office, cinema, hotel, bank, shopping centre, street, park.

3. Sentence pattern: Ss can learn to use the sentence pattern: There’s a….Is there…? To talk about the location of buildings.

Ability:

1. Ss can listen, read and say the dialogue in Part A.

2. Ss can learn to use the sentence pattern: There’s a….Is there…? To talk about the location of buildings.

Affection: Develop the spirit of co-operation and investigation.

Teaching steps and methods

Step 1: Warming up

1. Free talk.

T: What’s the date today?

What day is it today?

What’s the weather like today?

2. Revision.

1) Brainstorm.

2) Game: Listen and do.

T: There’s a book in your right hand. There’s a pen in your left hand. There’s a bag on your desk...

Step 2 Presentation

1、T shows the map.

2. Talk about the place and the buildings learned.

3. Learn the new words: “post office, cinema, hotel, bank, shopping centre, street, park, café, tea house” With pictures.

3. Draw the line.

4. Listen and repeat. Phonic: left, second, get, then, very.
