Unit 2 Reading:The Olympic Games教案设计

Understanding of core literacy:

High school English core literacy mainly covers four aspects: language competence, cultural character, thinking quality and learning ability. Education based on core literacy should not only include traditional knowledge and learning ability, but also emphasize students'all-round development and lifelong learning, paying special attention to the unity and coordinated development of people and society.

Analysis of the teaching material

1) It is the reading part of Unit2 from Senior English for China Students’ Book2.

2)This unit aims at improving students’ reading ability and comprehensive ability.

3)The main knowledge of this unit is to let the students understand the origin of Olympic Games, purpose, events, and the similarities and differences of the modern Olympic Games.

Analysis of students

1. The Ss have known something about Olympics Games through the Internet and other ways. 2. They don’t often use English to express themselves and communicate with others. 3. Some Ss are not active in the class because they are afraid of making mistakes.

?? 1) Master some important and useful words & expressions related to the Olympics.

2) Learn about basic information about the Olympics,especially the differences & similarities between the ancient and modern Olympics.

3)Use the grammar (the future passive voice)
