1. Do you believe “Studies pass into characters (Abeunt studia in mores) ” as Bacon say in his essay “ Of Studies”? How and why? Cite examples to prove that studies have an influence upon the manners of those that are conversant in them.
I believe in this view. There are many influences to reading and study for us .There are three functions of reading, Firstly, Studies sever for delight, r for ornament and for ability. Secondly, some books also maybe read by deputy, and extracts made of them by others but that would be only in the less important arguments, and the meaner sort of books; else distilled books are like common distilled waters, flashy thing. Thirdly, histories make men wise; poets witty; the mathematics subtitle, natural philosophy deep; moral grave, logic and rhetoric able to contend. The functions of reading make me believe that studies have an influence upon the manners of people.

The novel is full of plot twists, comedy, witty language, which can be seen in the opening of Pride and Prejudice. The Bennet family is described in a few lines, with a snobbish mother and a cynical father, and the wonderful dialogue and proper irony add interest and readability to the novel.
