Liu Qiang Opera
Opera is a traditional culture of China which is a classical art form rich in Oriental charm. Liu Qiang belongs to the local traditional drama of Jimo City, my hometown, and is one of the national intangible cultural heritage.
Liu Qiang opera has a long history which was formed during the Reign of Emperor Qianlong. It mainly spread in Jimo area, after popular in Jiaodong. There are more than 120 traditional chapters and more than 40 modern ones. The performance style of Liu Qiang opera is fresh and simple, funny and vivid.
Liu Qiang has rich cultural characteristics. Liu Qiang opera uses Jimo regional dialect so that it is easy to understand and full of exaggeration. At the same time, it is full of life, with strong local flavor to enhance the appeal. Liu Qiang is accompanied by folk music, and the main instruments are erhu, pipa, suona, flute, big gong, small gong and so on. The performance of Liu Qiang also experienced a development process from rough to delicate, and gradually changed to the application of basic skills of "hand, eye, body, hair and step" in long-term practice. This trend makes singing, reading, doing, fighting and dancing organically combined, and improves the performing arts. The characters are divided into Sheng, Dan, Jing, Mo and Chou, which are basically the same as other operas.
Chinese opera culture is being accepted by westerners.
